Delhi, the capital territory of India with 25 million people is one of the craziest, most stimulating cities i’ve ever visited…..MAYHEM but in a beautiful way if that makes sense.
*The Imperial Hotel– A hotel with colonial elegance, centrally located, beautifully decorated with marble floors, an atrium for high tea and a pool.

SIGHTS:
1st Day we did “Old Delhi”:
*Jama Masjid– Red sandstone mosque, the largest mosque in India.
*Red Fort– (Lal Qila) The residence of the Mughal emperor and houses numerous museums.
*Chandi Chowk– One of the oldest and busiest markets in Delhi. It is across from the Red Fort. We took a tuk tuk (rickshaw) from the Red Fort to this area and it is a stimulating experience for all of your senses! The sights of the busy traffic and colorful powders being sold for the upcoming Holi festival! The smells of the vendors and spice market! The sounds of the people bargaining on the streets and horns everywhere. It is a bazaar where you can buy everything from silk to jewelery to textiles to spices–highly recommend this experience!
2nd Day we did “New Delhi”:
*Humayan’s Tomb– “The mini Taj Mahal” was absolutely beautiful and well worth a visit. The tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayan was built in 1570. It has beautiful gardens and has persian influence because of the architect.
*India Gate– A war memorial that resembles the Arc-de-Triomphe.
We spent the afternoon at lunch and the hotel to enjoy the pool and high tea.

FOOD:
*Bukhara– This restaurant was voted one of the top 20 restaurants in the world by Conde Naste and I have to say it was the best dahl makhani i’ve ever had. It is in the Sheraton Hotel which is about 30 minutes from the Imperial.
*Veda-The interior is stylish and modern and the atmosphere is lively. Northern Indian Cuisine.
*For lunch–Would recommend Lodhi Restaurant in the Lodhi Gardens & Basil & Thyme.
SHOPPING:
*Fab India– great fabrics (Khan Market in New Delhi)
*Good Earth–Christmas decor (Khan Market in New Delhi)
*Sundar Nagar- A market with quaint tea shops that sells art and antiques.
