Vietnam has been one of the most memorable family vacations we’ve had while living in Asia.  It has a bit of everything!  We had 9 days, left on a Saturday morning and returned the following Sunday night.  It is amazing how much we fit into those 9 days.  Our itinerary was the following:

*Flew to Hanoi from KL on Air Asia, arrived at 8 a.m..  The Indochina junk boat group picked us up from the airport in Hanoi and drove us to Halong Bay which took @ 3 1/2 hours.  We boarded the Dragon’s Pearl Junk Boat for a 3 day/ 2 night adventure on the water including swimming, kayaking, and amazing meals on the boat.  On the 3rd day we docked and drove back to Hanoi and stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel in Hanoi for 1 night.  On the 4th day we flew Jetstar from Hanoi to Danang (@ 1 hour flight and cost is 30 usd for one way).  We stayed at the Hyatt in Danang for 4 nights and enjoyed the beautiful beach, hotel and trips to Hoi An.  On Sunday we flew back to our home from Danang.

Details of the itinerary are under each city in the drop down menu or below. If the thought of organizing your own trip through Vietnam seems overwhelming, visit Explore Vietnam, for guided tours.
